I’ve quickly realized that while I’m fully capable of planning my own wedding, I am not capable of splitting myself in two and being my own coordinator on the day of. Images of myself directing the florist and calling my own music as I begin to walk down the aisle were not very appealing so I began the search for what’s known as a “day of” planner in the wedding biz.

After meeting with Laura and Garry of A Diamond Affair, I walked away with not only two new best friends but a whole month of support leading up to the wedding! Rehearsal coordination…check. Welcome basket help….check. Schlepping presents to honeymoon suite…check. Ahhh – the cavalry has arrived!

I’d like to introduce you all to my friend Jimmy Choo. We met on Saturday and I think this new love of my life might even be enough to give Mr. Right a run for his money! It’s a little less than four months until the big day and I purchased the second most coveted wedding item next to the dress, although I must admit this was almost equally as exciting! I slipped my foot in to the buttery soft leather and it was love at first sight…

I’d like to talk today about trust. And no – this won’t be a sermon about the trust you should have in each other when standing at the alter about to say OH YES I DO, but more so about the trust one must put in their (drum roll please)…florist.

This person can help define the entire look and feel of your big day. They might be putting the final touches on the fist thing your guests see when they arrive, or perhaps the last thing they see before they leave. Luckily, I already knew EXACTLY who I wanted to handle this job! I had worked with Le Petit Gardenia in the past and entrusted the owner to some of my most hard to please clients for their events. Since she walked away not only unscathed but to rave reviews, I figured she would be up to the task.

Hmmm…I started out with no false fantasies of a huge floral budget but by the end of my appointment I wanted an orchid at every turn. Good thing I opted out of having Mr. Right come along for this one!
